In the Spirit of Myth and Legend

Barking Owls are just that - they “bark” (just like those of a 4-legged nature). They are unique, and striking in colour, often with hues of what I see as blue. As a young girl, I was always intrigued with the representations of “Ned Kelly.” He was often presented as the Australian Bushranger, the outlaw up against the odds. Complete with his bulletproof suit of armour having one last shoot-out with police, the legend lived on.

We grow up with many myths and legends and with histories about other peoples’ lives. In each story we learn about personal choice, privilege, disadvantage, culture, time and place, and personal responsibility - so I have to say “thanks Ned Kelly”.

This painting comes complete with a professionally fitted floating frame in black. This painting is acrylic on stretched canvas with a profile edge of (4cm) painted in black and comes ready to hang in its new home.
