This painting is one of my favourites in this series. It offers a naïve interpretation of a weatherboard shed. Titled, "The Potting Shed", it is reminiscent of many old houses I know and their unique surrounds. I have always liked recycled brick pathways, or fence lines, and recycled boards on sheds, or even floors.
For many, the idea of repurposing and reusing is common and speaks to the enjoyment of being a maker and being creative, and it is often those qualities that imbue old homes with character. "The Potting Shed" is suitable for any interior space, no matter what age the viewer might be.
