Waiting

Artisan glass blowers of the islands of Murano in the Venetian lagoon (Northern Italy) have always charmed the world with their hand-blown, colourful and radiant glassware. It is fair to say that Venetians colour their glassware with confidence, often bringing together eye-catching elements such as aquamarine, cobalt and ultramarine with emerald. "Waiting" is my reply to the Murano artisans, who are valued and appreciated for their manual dexterity and ingenuity in everything they do. "Waiting" is well suited to neutral wall spaces, where you feel something unique is needed. Despite this painting being colourful, it enjoys an abstract simplicity, and has a sanctuary feel to it.
